Hi-Tec Universal CVT Transmission Fluid is a premium synthetic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) fluid designed for use in a wide variety of vehicles.
Continuously Variable Transmissions can be chain or belt driven. Both types of CVTs operate through a torque converter where high metal to metal contact occurs. Particular friction characteristics need to be maintained to provide the optimum power transmission from the engine to drive the vehicle. This friction is very damaging and can cause deterioration in the lubricants’ performance. Lubricants need to maintain excellent anti shudder, shear stability, anti foaming, anti oxidant and scuff resisting performance to provide a long trouble free working life.
Hi-Tec Universal CVT Transmission Fluid has these optimized metal to metal friction characteristics designed to maximize the performance of the torque converter. It also has excellent anti-shudder, anti scuffing and shear stability performance which help maintain the viscosity characteristics of the lubricant.
Hi-Tec Universal CVT Transmission Fluid also has excellent anti-foaming characteristics allowing better power transmission with less lubricant oxidation and component wear resulting in a prolonged fluid life, generally of 30,000 kms.
The performance of Hi-Tec Universal CVT Transmission Fluid has been successfully demonstrated in varying types of CVTs with road tests in numerous vehicles including Jeep Patriot, Subaru Outback, Ford Freestyle (full sized crossover SUV), and Honda Civic Hybrid.
Hi-Tec Universal CVT Transmission Fluid is NOT suitable for certain types of CVTs including Ford and Toyota Hybrid CVT (which require an ATF) and Mitsubishi and Hyundai/Kia CVT requiring SP-III fluids.
